(Technology is grand, but Fang has no patience for it. It's only thanks to her new furry friend that she hasn't smashed the communicator to pieces.)

Alright, is it on? Can anyone hear me? (The thick accent of a female Gran Pulsian is probably pretty startling to hear anyway. However there is an almost husky edge to this voice, perpetually sounding as if she has just woken out of a long slumber.

Which isn't far from the truth.) M'not sure how much I should say. The world doesn't seem t'be endin.

(The juries out on whether or not that's good.)

This cat thing can't talk. (Yes, she sounds disappointed by that.) So she directed me to this.

(There's a low expletive and a sigh.)

Guess there's no use in hidin' it. I'm Fang and if anyone could point me in the Savior's direction, I'd appreciate it.

(No! That doesn't sound insane at all!

Another button is pressed on accident - technology can take a hike, seriously - and bright green eyes can be seen, narrowed in frustration.)

Where's the off switch? (Have no fear, a Purrloin comes to the rescue, tapping the screen with a delicate paw. Does its grin seem wicked to anyone else?)

That's the one! She seems the sort you would look after. (Mainly because she's the sort that would awaken Fang's guilty conscience too.)

Two weeks is nothin', though if you miss me that much...

I could always go to another town with Serah, and just make you travel even further to see us.

[The Purrloin does manage to make her smile slightly.] Purrloin suits you. I started with a sheep myself. It was a Mareep. Named her Vanille, and she acted just like her namesake.

(That last part is grumbled before she grins.)

A sheep? Sunshine and a sheep. (It's a silly and sweet image.) Vanille loves anythin' fluffy. She'd be honored.

I don't know, I've seen you take some pretty good jabs.

[The nickname is back. Wonderful. She won't complain.] Except she's not so fluffy anymore. I'll take her out of the box for you to meet her. For now, the only ones I've got with me while shopping are my Lucario, Rapidash, and a Zorua.

Did you shave her? The wool could come in handy. (The names have her quickly looking through her index, nose wrinkled in confusion.) So...somethin' like a fox, a horse and...another fox? Tryin' to make a statement?

(No, she won't lower herself to saying "foxy".)

No. She evolved and lost most of her wool each time she did. [She raises an eyebrow.] Statement? No. If I wanted to make a statement, I'd have brought all six with me. And Beatrix, my Lucario, is a dog, not a fox.

[There's a bark of affirmation in the background before said Lucario peeks into the screen to wave.] She's friendly enough.

That's the only way anyone can keep up with you.

I'm a little fuzzy on how the evolving works. (So her Purrloin is gonna turn into a...Liepard.) Sorry there, Beatrix. I'll bring you a treat for the mix up, how's that?

It's easier to see it in action when your Pokémon hit that level, or you have a stone. Some of them are as complicated as certain weather conditions, affection, or friendship. [Beatrix nods, looking rather happy about that suggestion.

I have a Liepard. When Selima was a Purrloin, she... well, she never was like the rest of her kind. She was sweet, loving, but got into everything. It only got worse when she evolved because she was bigger.

I think I have a couple more exceptions in this place. [Naminé and a kid.]

Sort of. There's those who choose not to evolve. Vanille didn't want to for a long time until Hope convinced her. Hope was an Espurr, and now he's a Meowstic. You won't meet him unless you meet Naminé.

[It could be much, much worse.] I think my Tyrunt will have her beat. He's got a steel jaw and a bad chewing habit.

(She looks pleasantly surprised.)

Nothing wrong with that. (A beat.) You know I gotta meet them, right?

...Dia's gonna be one of those, I bet. I'll toughen her up and let her do what she wants.

(Which will likely include stealing things.)

[Her face falls a bit at that as she looks away for a moment to compose herself.] I know. One of them left, so you can't meet him. You'll be meeting one of them soon if she comes with us, or stays in Cerulean.

It's the best way to go about it. I let them all know when I hatch or catch them that it's their choice. [Oh boy, wait till she explains that all Pokémon hatch from eggs.]
