Two tanned hands are hard at work, setting up red roses, a glittery heart-shaped package (complete with a key) and a pair of plush octopi. At the very end of the table, there is a large card and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries.)

Do you think Sunshine will approve? She's a hard woman to please...

I've got something for you. I guess I was feelin' in the spirit.

(That and she poured out a lot of her feelings in the card. It's...embarrassing. She'll probably slip off when Lightning reads it.)

We've been through a lot, haven't we? I never thought it'd be just us. One day we'll go back to Vanille, Serah and all the rest, but I don't think this set up is too bad. Being near you reminds me of how much good there is in the world. I think Vanille felt the same way.

Don't get me wrong, you can be a grumpy pain in the ass, but your heart is in the right place. I'm sorry for a lot of things I did. I was pretty selfish. I didn't think anyone would understand Vanille and I. But you did.

I guess over time I've just -

(There is a huge sigh on the other side of the door. A hanger is poked out - a wire one - and soon the woman has freed herself. She needs for Lightning to see her face for this answer.)

I am willing to see the end of the world with you. There is nothin' you can say or feel that would scare me away. We've seen too much for that.

[This is definitely nothing like what happened to her last year. It's strange to think it's been almost a year since then. If Fang had been around, there would have been even more of a mess. It's the little blessings that counted at this moment.]

People say things like that all the time. I need a promise you won't run away.

(Fang steps forward and pulls Lightning into a tight embrace, her voice soft and fierce.)

I love you, Sunshine. I'm happy being around you period. You don't have to give me anything in return because I'm not goin' anywhere.

[Lightning doesn't fight the embrace. Nor does she return it. The words needed to sink in before she finally lets down her guard, wrapping her own arms around Fang. She chides herself for feeling shy enough to hide her face in the other woman's shoulder.]

You better not. I'd hunt you down.

(She's not moving an inch. Having Lightning like this is precious and even a hard-headed warrior like her realizes that.)

You've got me. I don't run when I know something is right.

You are right for me.

[It can't be helped. She lets out a soft laugh.]

[She pulls away enough to look Fang in the face.]

(She touches Lightning's cheek carefully.)

[That touch seems almost too tender for someone like Fang. Light watches her curiously.]

It helps that Lightning has inspired and changed her so much.)

... I don't think I'm going anywhere for a long time... It'll be a year here for me in a few days.

[She's far more terrified that you'll be the one leaving, Fang. Everyone else has.]

You think I'd let you go without a chase? (She tries for levity, but there is real worry in Lightning's eyes - and she can't ignore it.) I don't have any plans to leave. Besides, even if I do, you know we'll find one another again.

It's our fate.

[Fate? That's something she always fights against.

This time she'll make an exception.]

One of those 'no matter how many time's we're reborn' kind of fate?

(They can fight against it all they want, but it still exists.)

I'm afraid so. I'll find you or you'll find me and before you know, we'll be changin' the world.

Why don't we skip changing the world this time. It's fine as it is.
